Our story

It started at a doorway.

Chaukhat means the threshold — the doorway you stand in, the corner of the courtyard where people stop to talk. That is the feeling we wanted to cook for: familiar food, made unhurried, shared standing up with someone you have just met.

We began as a small food stall. Our first proper outing was a Ganesh Chaturthi celebration in Bengaluru, and the response was more than we had prepared for. Most of the menu sold out and we closed by nine.

What came next was unexpected: people asking whether we could bring the same stall to their society, their party, their restaurant for an evening. So that is what we do now — the same chaat, the same earthen cups, wherever you are gathering.

Crisp puris, spiced potato, and that first sharp rush of tangy water.

Dahi Fuchka Chaat

The same fuchka, cooled with set curd and a sweet-sour drizzle.

Aloo Tikki Chaat

Potato tikki crisped on the tawa, layered with chutneys.

Papdi Chaat

When our stall is at your society

Ordering for the family? Stay home, we’ll bring the chaat.

Free society delivery on orders ₹499+

Only on the days our stall is set up at your society — this is not a delivery service you can book on its own. While we are there, we will bring a family order to your tower or lobby. Timing depends on the rush at the counter, so it may not be immediate and we pause deliveries when the queue is long. We will tell you when to expect us.
